Jordani Martinez-Casiano, 25, was sentenced on Thursday, July 11, to five years of probation, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. He previously pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun.
Pleasantville police responded to Pizza Di Roma on North Main Street on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022. A caller said a heavily damaged Honda Accord had chased after a child and was parked at King’s Super Market.
An officer found the suspected car traveling east on North Main Street and approaching an intersection. Police followed the Honda until they could safely stop it.
Police found Martinez-Casiano and the driver, Jeins Colon-Marrero of Pleasantville, inside the car. Officers also saw a metal baseball bat and a fixed-blade knife in the Honda.
The men denied being near Pizza Di Roma during the incident but said they were previously at King’s Super Market. A K9 officer smelled marijuana inside the car.
Police searched the car and discovered a Sig Sauer P245 gun in a backpack. They also seized about 36 grams of marijuana, small heat-sealed bags, two digital scales, and sandwich bags.
Prosecutors said they sought three years in prison for Martinez-Casiano.
